Growing Conditions

The adverse weather conditions, drought, frosts and a dry spring and summer reduced
the crops of all varieties.

Nose

The intense nose displays blackberries, plums and chocolate with exotic mountain florals, lavender and smoked paprika.

Palate

A layered palate of blackcurrant, Dutch licorice, sage oil and fresh menthol with fine tannins and a long finish.

Appearance

Vibrant red in colour.

Aging

The handpicked grapes were vinified in traditional open-top fermenters.

Harvest

Despite reduced yields of up to 40%, the 1995 vintage produced high quality wines.
