Growing Conditions
The wines from 1993, our 125th vintage, experienced a very difficult start to the season. 51% of the annual rainfall fell during September to December 1992, thus being our
wettest year since 1851 and the recorded wettest December for 26 years. Spring weather was unpredictable and not particularly conducive to flowering or berry set. Enormous problems occurred due to very heavy rainfalls and flooding during these months. Vintage was about a month late due to the dry, mild to cool temperatures during summer. February was the coolest since 1954. In general, the 1993 wines were very good to excellent with good concentration of colour and flavour.

Deep red with brick red hues.
